Mawedly vs Calendly
Calendly is a strong scheduling product and is broader than Mawedly in plenty of ways. This page sets out where the two actually differ, and where Calendly — not Mawedly — is the right call.
The core difference: Calendly is built for teams scheduling meetings, in English, priced per seat in USD. Mawedly is built for Gulf businesses selling appointments, with a full right-to-left Arabic interface and flat SAR pricing. Calendly collects payments through Stripe and PayPal; Mawedly never handles money at all.
The figures below were taken from Calendly's own pages on 6 August 2026. Prices change — check theirs before deciding anything.
Where they actually differ
Arabic and text direction
Mawedly is Arabic and English from the ground up, with a full RTL layout. Calendly offers its site in five languages — English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese — and Arabic is not among them. On Calendly's own community forum (22 October 2025), a Community Manager answered a request for Arabic and RTL support by saying he had "no timeline or a roadmap" for it. If most of your customers read Arabic, this is not cosmetic: half of the booking page reaches them in another language.
Pricing: flat SAR versus per-seat USD
Calendly prices per seat: $10/month for Standard and $16 for Teams on annual billing, with Enterprise starting at $15,000 a year. Mawedly prices per business, not per seat: 99 SAR a month covers up to five providers. A salon with four stylists pays for four seats on Calendly.
The free tier
Calendly's free plan allows one event type and one connected calendar. Mawedly's free plan allows 15 appointments a month and one provider — but an unlimited number of services. That matters if you sell more than one thing: a cut, a colour, a treatment.
Payments
Calendly connects Stripe and PayPal to collect payment inside the booking flow, from the Standard plan up. Mawedly does not, and will not: you publish your own payment instructions and the customer pays you directly. That is a real constraint, not a feature — see below.
WhatsApp
Mawedly builds a wa.me link into every booking, because WhatsApp is the channel customers in the Gulf actually use. Numbers are supported for six countries: Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman.
Integrations and enterprise features
Calendly wins this outright: Salesforce, HubSpot and Marketo, round-robin distribution, SSO, SAML and SCIM, an API with webhooks, mobile apps and browser extensions. Mawedly has none of it.
When Mawedly is the wrong choice
These are not polite hedges. If one of them describes you, Calendly or something like it fits better, and we would rather say so than waste your time.
- You want to take payment inside the booking page. Mawedly never handles money — payment happens directly between you and your customer, and verifying the transfer is on you.
- You need Salesforce or HubSpot, or round-robin distribution across a sales team. None of that exists in Mawedly.
- You need two-way sync with Google Calendar or Outlook. Mawedly offers an add-to-calendar button and .ics files only, which is one direction.
- You need SSO, SAML or an enterprise security review. Mawedly is a small tool for small businesses.
- Most of your customers read English and do not use WhatsApp. In that case Mawedly's two strongest features are irrelevant to you.
When Mawedly is the better fit
- Most of your customers read Arabic, and you want a booking page that looks designed for them rather than translated for them.
- You sell services with different durations and prices — not meetings of one fixed length.
- You have more than one provider and prefer a flat price to a per-seat one.
- WhatsApp is where your customers actually reach you.
- You want to set your own payment terms instead of routing through a gateway.
